FaktenFassenKI
The subject of "FaktenFassenKI" is experimental research as the basis for the development of a software function that enables people, especially those responsible for communication, to check the accuracy of text-based statements and to find references that support the truth of a statement or validate the statement itself.
This technical innovation will be an important addition to existing AI tools, as large language models (LLMs) that can generate text are not able to reliably generate facts.
The project is particularly important given the fact that in the future it will be less and less important who says something, but rather what news and information can trigger. When conveying information and communicating with the public or specific target and interest groups, factuality is a priori crucial when dealing with current events, topics and measures (political, social, regulatory, etc.) that have a direct impact on the recipient.
Fact-checking helps many professions and organizations communicate more honestly and credibly.
