Successful project funding through a new joint funding program between the University of Leeds and Universität Hamburg
Universität Hamburg provides extensive funding options for activities, mobilities and projects with international partners. In August 2021, the University of Leeds and Universität Hamburg signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation in research and teaching. The two university partners have now launched their first joint funding program to support academics from both institutions in carrying out joint projects and building networks.
The first grantees include Dr. Seid Muhie Yimam (UHH) and Dr. Serge Sharoff (UL) with the joint project "SAINT - Sentiment Analysis INTerpretability".
The submitted project was evaluated by a joint selection committee of the University of Leeds and the University of Hamburg according to all criteria of the call and was declared Outstanding for the support of the collaboration. The selection committee of the two university partners is convinced that this project has great potential to contribute to the strategic partnership between the University of Leeds and the University of Hamburg.
This funding is intended to support scientists at both institutions in identifying complementary strengths in research and teaching and to intensify project cooperation.
