The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) is proud to co-organize the upcoming Dagstuhl Seminar on “Digital Transformation of Research and Digital Centers in the Science Landscape,” taking place August 23–28, 2026, at Schloss Dagstuhl.
This prestigious 5-day seminar, hosted by the Leibniz Center for Informatics (LZI), will gather around 40 international experts from academia and infrastructure development. Participation is by invitation only, with invitations expected to be sent in late summer 2025.
What is a Dagstuhl Seminar?
Dagstuhl Seminars are internationally recognized scientific workshops organized by the Leibniz Center for Informatics (LZI) at Schloss Dagstuhl in Germany. They provide a unique environment for in-depth discussions and collaboration among leading researchers, infrastructure specialists, and policymakers—far beyond traditional conferences.
The upcoming seminar will focus on how to effectively embed digital transformation within the scientific research landscape. Key topics include the strategic role of digital centers, the contributions of Research Software Engineering (RSE), and Research Data Management (RDM) as critical components of modern research infrastructures.
