Prof. Adem Chanie Ali from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, hosted at HCDSfor Collaborative AI Research on Social Media Driven Conflict, Peace Building and Women's Empowerment

Prof. Adem Chanie Ali, an Associate Professor of Media and Communications at Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, will be hosted at the Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) at Universität Hamburg, Germany, for three months to work on the AI-driven Monitoring of Attitude Polarization in Conflict-Affected Countries for Inclusive Peace Process and Women's Empowerment (AI-MAP) project. This collaborative research, supported by the Google Award for Inclusion Research Program, aims to tackle social media hate speech and polarization in conflict regions with a focus on peace building and empowering women. Under the guidance of Prof. Chris Biemann at HCDS, this initiative strives for an inclusive peace process where women's voices play a crucial in conflict resolution.
