The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) participated in the 85th Annual Conference of the German Academic Association for Business Research (VHB), held from March 18–20, 2026, at the University of Göttingen.
Under the theme “Responsible Innovation – Shaping the Future through Business Administration”, the conference addressed how companies and entrepreneurship can contribute to sustainable transformation. Businesses were highlighted as both contributors to global challenges and key drivers of innovative solutions.

Representing HCDS, Marten Borchers took part in the conference, engaging with the information systems research community and participating in the early-career researchers’ meeting. Discussions particularly emphasized interdisciplinary exchange on sustainability topics, including contributions from our Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) Prof. Dr. Laura Marie Edinger-Schons.
The conference provided a platform for critical reflection, interdisciplinary dialogue, and the development of forward-looking solutions—highlighting the importance of collaboration between business research, computer science, and data science.
HCDS is proud to contribute to this dialogue and to further strengthen the link between data science, digital innovation, and responsible transformation.
