The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) and the Language Technology (LT) group at Universität Hamburg proudly received two awards at this year’s Annual Meeting of the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL 2025) in Vienna:
BRIGHTER – awarded Best Resource Paper Award
SemEval Task – awarded Best Task Award
These honors recognize the outstanding contributions of our researchers in the international NLP and AI community, showcasing both scientific excellence and impactful research.
About the awarded projects:
BRIGHTER (Building Resources for International Global Human-annotated Textual Emotion Recognition): A multilingual, human-annotated dataset for emotion classification in 28 languages, providing a vital resource for cross-lingual and cross-cultural emotion recognition research.
SemEval Task: An international shared task focused on detecting emotion-laden language, bringing together researchers from around the globe to advance and evaluate new approaches in emotion detection.
In addition to these award-winning contributions, HCDS was represented at ACL 2025 with numerous papers, demos, and benchmarks – making the most of this opportunity to engage with the global community.
