Call for CDLs 2022
Universität Hamburg invites applications for a funding program for "Cross-Disciplinary Labs" (CDLs) at the House of Computing and Data Science. This funding line is intended to promote cooperation between the data-centric methodological sciences and all other branches of science, thus advancing both the digitization of research and interdisciplinary research questions in computer science-related topics.
The goal of the program is to provide funding over 2-3 years to projects from applied sciences and methodological sciences to enable, among other things, the preparation of a larger externally funded project. Funding of up to 160,000 euros per year per application is available for both personnel and material resources.
Scientists with a doctorate employed at Universität Hamburg with secured funding for the planned project duration are eligible to apply. The duration of employment should also be sufficient to be able to prepare the subsequent application for third-party funding. In the review process, special attention will be given to applications with a preferably representative selection of personnel as well as contributions to sustainability & ethics in digitization (for details, please refer to the information sheet).
Deadline for submission for applications is October 31, 2022, with a decision on funding to be made by early January 2023. Funding is expected to be available from March 1, 2023.
For your information, please find below a fact sheet on the grant program with further details. In addition, the House of Computing and Data Science is available for substantive inquiries at cdl-call.hcds"AT"uni-hamburg.de.
